London: White Panther Party, 1972. 3rd Issue. Zine. 23pp.
Issue #3 of WHITE TRASH - A rare zine produced by the West London chapter of the White Panthers UK. The White Panthers (later known as the Rainbow People’s Party) were a radical, avowedly anti-racist political collective which emerged in Detroit in late 1968, founded by Pun Plamondon, Leni Sinclair, and John Sinclair; answering Huey Newton’s call for white solidarity with the Black Panthers, and worked with many ethnic minority rights groups within Fred Hampton’s Rainbow Coalition. Author, anarchist, musician, writer and editor at the IT (International Times), Mick Farren, later founded the White Panthers UK which, aside from its West London chapter, had bases in Abbey Wood (its base of operations), Rochdale, Iford, Glasgow, Croydon and Bromley.
