Exotique No. 26
Exotique No. 26
No. 26 of the exceedingly rare 50's publication Exotique, featuring illustrations by one of the big names of Bizarre comics, Gene Bilbrew. The cover artwork for this issue was actually used as the back cover of the 2019 compendium of Bilbrews work entitled 'Gene Bilbrew Revealed: The Unsung Legacy of a Fetish Art Pioneer'. As well as being a pioneer in erotic illustration, Bilbrew also did more conventional comic work, some album artwork (including an early 50s Mingus release) and even had a brief stint as a recording artist. Also featured inside are a few surprisingly interesting bits of journalism including an article on the social history of the Bloomer and the role of the garment in women's rights.
This issue is a bit bent but nothing a few days under some heavy books couldn't fix.
