A beautiful book of drawings by Iraqi artist and pioneer of Arab modern art: Dhia Al-Azzawi for the second volume of Palestinian author and politician Ghassan Kanafani's collected works; created in response to Kanafani's assassination at the hands of the Mossad the previous year. Kanafani began writing stories for displaced Palestinian children in the refugee camp he worked in, in order to help them make sense of their situation. This book of drawings is named after one of Kanafani's early stories 'The Land of the Sad Orange'; portraying the impact of deracination on Palestinians after the Nakba of 1948.
