New York: Kineticism Press, 1972. First Edition. Softcover. 73pp.

Issue number four of the quarterly periodical Avalanche, a magazine based in New York, established and ran by Willoughby Sharp and Liza Béar from 1970 to 1976. Distinguished by its focus on the artist's perspective rather than that of critics, the publication placed particular emphasis on conceptual art and emerging forms in both the United States and Europe. It gained recognition for its extensive photographic documentation of temporary and ephemeral artworks. This fourth edition features Lawrence Weiner on the cover, alongside pieces on Jackie Winsor, Sol LeWitt, Howard Fried, Alice Aycock, Stanley Brouwn, Franz Erhard Walther, Hanne Darboven, Walter De Maria, and Lawrence Wiener.
